Full upper (maxillary) and full lower (mandibular) dentures are worn by people that have lost all their natural teeth on either the upper lower or both dental arches.
An appointment will allow us to develop a comprehensive and customized denture treatment proposal for you, we consider what your denture requirements are functionally and aesthetically but most importantly we listen to what you would like your dentures to look like and results you want to achieve.
We look at your current dentures and discuss how we can implement changes in your new denture to improve functions, aesthetics and lip support. Some patients like to bring in photos of how their natural teeth looked or even magazine clippings of smiles.
We like to approach our denture treatments as a team together with you, the clinician and the denture technician.
A complete denture is an artwork in itself, hand crafted from high quality materials and denture teeth and this reflects our patient outcome.
It is important to know we do not proceed to a final finished denture until the patient is totally satisfied. We can even provide you with a take home wax denture pattern to place in your mouth in the privacy of your own home and look at the colour in your lighting before progressing to the last denture stage. If you decide you would like to make a change, we modify the wax pattern accordingly. Denture treatment can consist of up to 5 appointments.
If only an upper or lower full denture is needed we expertly match the denture teeth in with your bite and shade of your natural teeth.
We encourage your input into the tooth size, shape and most essentially colour of the denture tooth.
Lip support is very important when making new dentures , we take care to ensure lip support is achieved to the desired amount , we work with you on these choices before we complete the final denture.
We conduct post treatment review(s) after your new dentures have been inserted to help you navigate the initial weeks of wearing a new denture where you may have challenges with discomfort and eating with new dentures. We are here for you. Reviews are part of your treatment plan to help you settle in with your new dentures with adjustments as needed. We guide you through this process
